What does New Hampshire require of your registered agent?

Each LLC must have and maintain a registered office in New Hampshire, which may be one of its places of business, and a registered agent: an individual residing in the state, or a corporation, LLC or LLP organized or authorized in New Hampshire, whose residential or business office is identical to the registered office. The registered office is a physical New Hampshire address, not a post office box.
The registered agent is the LLC’s agent for service of any process, notice or demand permitted or required by law to be served on the company, so the New Hampshire address has to be one where a server can find someone during ordinary working hours.
If you have no agent
If an LLC has no registered agent, or the agent cannot with reasonable diligence be served, the company may be served by registered or certified mail addressed to its principal office — meaning a suit can proceed from a letter you may never open.
