Oklahoma registered agent requirements
The rule
Governing statute: 18 O.S. § 2010 (LLC registered office and agent), § 2055.2 (annual certificate) and § 1022 (corporations)
The registered office must be a physical street address in Oklahoma, and each registered agent must maintain a business office identical with the registered office. A PO box does not satisfy the rule because process has to be served in person.
The registered office must be open during regular business hours to accept service of process and otherwise perform the functions of a registered agent.
If you have no agent
Without a working registered office, service of process cannot reach you and default judgments follow. Separately, an LLC that misses its Annual Certificate by more than sixty days after the due date ceases to be in good standing, and Oklahoma sends the annual certificate notice only to the last known email address of record.
Operating beyond Oklahoma? Compare agent requirements state by state — the term, the address rule and the recurring filing all change at the state line.

We handle the whole swapCan you be your own registered agent in Oklahoma?
Yes, and Oklahoma is unusually permissive about it: 18 O.S. § 2010 lets the limited liability company itself be its own registered agent, as can any individual Oklahoma resident. The registered office still has to be a physical Oklahoma address staffed during regular business hours, and it is public. The bigger trap is the notice channel: Oklahoma emails your Annual Certificate reminder to the last address of record and nowhere else, so a dead inbox turns into an inactive entity sixty days after your anniversary. Foreign corporations get no choice at all — the Secretary of State is their registered agent by statute and they may not be their own. The full guide: Can you be your own registered agent?
Should you be your own registered agent?

Is it fine if your home or office address goes on the public record?
As your own registered agent, the street address you list is the one that appears on Oklahoma's public record.
Should you even hire a registered agent?
If you live in Oklahoma, keep regular hours at a fixed address, and run one entity, you may not need us, and we will tell you so. A service earns its keep when you value privacy, travel, run more than one entity, or operate across state lines.

Oklahoma registered agent FAQ
Do I need a registered agent in Oklahoma?
Yes. Under 18 O.S. § 2010, every Oklahoma LLC must continuously maintain both a registered office and a registered agent. The agent may be the LLC itself, an individual Oklahoma resident, or a domestic or qualified foreign entity, and must keep a business office identical with the registered office, open during regular business hours to accept service of process.
Can I be my own registered agent in Oklahoma?
Yes. Oklahoma expressly allows the LLC itself, or an individual Oklahoma resident, to serve as registered agent. The catch is that the registered office must be a physical Oklahoma address open during business hours and it becomes public. Foreign corporations are the exception: the Secretary of State is their agent by statute and they may not be their own.
When is the Oklahoma Annual Certificate due?
On the anniversary date of the day your Articles of Organization or registration were filed — not a fixed month like most states. A sixty-day grace period follows, after which the LLC ceases to be in good standing and shows as inactive. The Secretary of State sends the reminder only to your last known email address of record.
How do I change my registered agent in Oklahoma?
File SOS Form 0075, Change or Designation of Registered Agent and/or Registered Office and/or Principal Office, signed by any manager; domestic corporations use Form 0056. It can go in on paper or through the Online Business Filing System and takes effect when the Secretary of State files it. Any state fee is confirmed with you before anything is filed.
How much does an Oklahoma registered agent cost?
Pricing is custom to your portfolio of entities and states, and most quotes are same-day. Call 212-202-5750 or start a filing and we’ll price exactly what you need. State filing fees are set by the state and confirmed with you before anything is filed.
