The rule
Governing statute: La. R.S. 12:1308 (registered office and registered agent), 12:1308.1 (annual report) and 12:1308.2 (revocation for failure to file)
The company must keep a registered office in Louisiana, and the annual report must state the municipal address of that office and of each registered agent — a post office box alone will not satisfy the statute. An individual agent must be a citizen of the state who resides in this state; alternatively the agent may be a Louisiana law partnership or professional law corporation, or a domestic or authorized foreign corporation or LLC that has filed a certificate naming at least two individuals at its Louisiana address who may accept process.
Legal process, notices and demands are served on the company by service upon the registered agent at the registered office, so someone must be there to receive them during normal business hours.

Notices of intent to revoke go to the last registered agent of record; with no agent to receive them you can miss suits and state notices entirely, and the Secretary of State revokes the articles of a domestic LLC that fails to file an annual report for three consecutive years.
