Missouri registered agent requirements
The rule
Governing statute: Mo. Rev. Stat. § 347.030 (LLC registered office and registered agent); § 351.370 (corporations); corporate registration report at § 351.120
The registered agent must have a Missouri address and the agent’s business office must be identical to the entity’s registered office. The agent is either an individual resident of Missouri or a domestic or foreign corporation authorized to do business in Missouri. A PO box may be listed as the registered office address only if a physical street address in the same city is listed as well.
The registered agent is the entity’s agent for service of any process, notice or demand, at the registered office — so someone has to be reachable at that Missouri street address on a working day; the Secretary of State cannot be appointed as the agent.

If an entity fails to maintain a registered agent the Secretary of State notifies it, and if no agent is registered within the time allowed a domestic corporation is administratively dissolved and a foreign entity’s certificate of authority is revoked. For other entity types the registration can be canceled.
